Companies like this are the reason why websites such as "watch people die" exist. I can't believe the crazy safety issues there. Loose clothing around spinning machines... no guarding, wearing gloves on while using the drill. The whole show is filled with mistakes. I don't even see an emergency stop on anything. I'm Tool & Die Maker so I am fully aware of how dangerous things can be. I know that our Lathes at work, they had an emergency stop on the BACK so if someone is close to there, they can stop it, they had one near your left hand.. They had a food pedal so if you pushed it, the machine will instantly stop in the blink of an eye. So they even have it set up so people around the machine can stop it quick if there's trouble. Also at my factory.. We had cages were robots were, You had to shut down power to the cell, Lock it with your lock, shut down air supply, lock that out, shut down hydraulics, lock that with your lock too, then you could push a button, light would flash and you could remove the key from the door to open the door to the cell. That key to the door had to stay inside your pocket, along with your personal key that opened your personal locks which you used for Hydraulics, air, power. ONLY YOU can remove your special locks. If you would go home and leave 1 lock on and they can't start the machine... They Must call you and confirm that it's safe to remove. if they can't contact you, they must get safety people there to verify the machine is safe to start up. Anyone who would cut the lock or a boss that would get the lock cut without trying to contact you and have the safety people verify the machine is safe first... would be fired on the spot. That's the way it works in Canada... well at least in my plant, but that seems common sense. Every persons locks say "This lock belongs to (Name). Do not remove, my life depends on it". If someone else comes to help you work on the machine. They must also add their own unique lock. That way, the machine is impossible to turn on until everyone is out of the area and all workers locks are removed.
